Kiekert latches range from manual to power actuated electro-mechanical "system latches". Kiekert was the first to provide the combination of a robust mechanical latch with an electrically operated actuator. This innovation is now the dominate latch technology in the "locking systems for the cars of the world".
Kiekert's system latch is a highly integrated latch that can be used in side door and liftgate applications. The latch is equipped with an electric actuator that performs the electric locking and unlocking function. These latches also contain micro switches or hall effect sensors which control the various latch functions. Rear latches are designed so to provide optional remote child safety activation from the key fob or instrument panel. These latches are also capable of providing safety features, such as anti-theft double locking.
