NAVTEQ Announces NAVTEQ Traffic For Microsoft Windows Live FrameIt
Chicago, IL - NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, announced recently the launch of NAVTEQ Traffic real-time traffic information with Microsoft Windows Live FrameIt. Windows Live FrameIt is a service that allows users to dynamically deliver photos and content such as traffic, news and weather directly to wireless digital picture frames. Visitors to http://frameit.live.com can now select streaming real-time traffic maps to be delivered to their FrameIt RSS-enabled devices and wireless digital picture frames.
"NAVTEQ has worked closely with Microsoft for many years to support the development of innovative consumer products, and the traffic launch with Microsoft Windows Live FrameIt is emblematic of this strong relationship between our companies," said Jeff Mize, executive vice president, NAVTEQ. "FrameIt is yet another creative extension of our NAVTEQ Maps and Traffic services beyond Windows Live Local, MSN Auto and MSN Direct."
With FrameIt devices, morning commutes, road trips and errands are made easier when drivers can see exactly where delays are occurring before hitting the road. NAVTEQ Traffic enhances the personal organization features offered by FrameIt's custom picture collections with the ability to choose a specific traffic market and schedule the day of the week and time of day for real-time traffic information display. For example, each weekday morning at 8:00AM, a Chicagoland commuter can check his/her daily route using detailed traffic maps displayed on a Microsoft Live FrameIt wireless picture frame.
"NAVTEQ and Microsoft have extended our relationship to enable our customers to get the content they want, when and where they want it on wireless digital picture frames," said Jeff Hansen, General Manager -- Services Marketing. "By streaming real-time traffic information onto Windows Live FrameIt enabled devices, we're offering our customers convenient and compelling information that changes by the minute and that is easily customizable -- delivering meaningful content they'll rely on throughout the day -- every day."
Streaming color-coded traffic flow for cities across the U.S. and in Canada helps FrameIt users avoid traffic congestion, construction, road closings and other traffic obstacles.
