It simultaneously grinds up to eight lobes in a single plunge, and 12 or 16-lobe shafts are completely ground in two successive plunges. The contouring heads are individually controlled by n integral servo-driven assembly with precision roller screw movement, and a 32bit multi-processing CNC with a curve fitting function is said to provide precise contouring motion and ease of programming.
