MAHLE Receives Jasper Award

(Jasper, Indiana)--MAHLE, Inc. has been named as a Preferred Partner by Jasper Engines & Transmissions. The award was presented during Jasper's 12th Annual Preferred Partners Banquet on March 7, 2000 in Jasper.

Jasper Engines & Transmission's Preferred Partner Award is presented annually to recognize the company's "Partners in Success." It is important not only to the companies that receive it, but to Jasper as well. Recipients are nominated by a purchaser within the
Jasper organization and are judged on quality, service, fill-rate, response time to a problem, billing/credit procedures, and other criteria.

MAHLE, Inc. was one of only ten Jasper vendors to be presented with the award, and this is the second straight year that MAHLE has received it.

"This award truly is designed for the best of the best...this award is for companies that are the cream of the crop. This award is going to just ten of the 3200 suppliers we have-- just 2/10 of 1% of our vendors," said Doug Bawel, President of Jasper Engines and Transmissions during the presentation.

"Folks, this is Winston Cup competition," he said, alluding to Jasper's sponsorship of Robert Pressley and the NASCAR Winston Cup #77 Taurus.

Bawel concluded by saying, "Over the next 12 months, you have earned the right to brag to the world that you are a Preferred Partner of Jasper. We also make the commitment that I or Mike Schwenk, Vice President of Manufacturing, will go to your plant, at our expense
