LIN Slave Specific Microcontroller
The device features an on chip peripheral set including dedicated functionality required to synchronize with a LIN Bus, which uses a single wire implementation to reduce cost and compliment CAN in low end nodes.
The device will be the first in a family of dedicated LIN devices from Motorola addressing the LIN market, and is expected to be qualified to full automotive AEC standards. Device features include high performance 8-bit (HC08) Core, 8K bytes of on chip Flash (with 10K write erase) and 256 bytes of RAM. The on chip RC Oscillator (+/- 2% accuracy) aids synchronization with the LIN bus and the Enhanced SCI allows 13 bit LIN break detection capability without the use of an external timer channel. The unit is packaged in a small footprint 32 pin QFP and including an 8-ch 8-bit A/D, two 16 bit dual channel timers and an SPI.
