<%=company1%>, a Material Sciences Corporation company, announces the successful commissioning of a 72" wide laminating capability at its Walbridge, OH facility. L&C is the supplier of Polycore Composites and Quiet Steel to the auto OEM and aftermarket, used extensively in brake damping, powertrain, body and related applications to control NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness).

The new equipment, according to Jim Carlen, VP Sales and Marketing, "gives us the capability needed to meet the wider widths and higher volume requirements of auto body applications. We've previously accommodated the current automotive requirements for the powertrain market segment, utilizing existing equipment at our Elk Grove Village, IL plant. Now, however, the automotive OEM is realizing the benefits of our Quiet Steel products in body applications, as they improve noise quality and reduce weight and overall cost. This emerging market opportunity required us to increase our coil width capability, as well as our overall production capacities," said Carlen.

MSC Laminates and Composites specializes in the design, development, prototyping and production of engineered solutions used in various applications and multiple markets to control NVH. In addition to automotive, L&C products are found in appliance, aircraft, truck, bus, computer disk drive, outdoor power equipment and numerous consumer durable applications.

The Walbridge, OH facility is located just outside of Toledo.
