2001 Pontiac Aztek GT Front Wheel Drive

Pontiac's so-called ‘sport recreation vehicle' Aztek will start at $21,995 for the base model and $24,995 for the GT version. Both prices include a destination charge of $550, the automaker says today. Pontiac is reportedly launching a $30 million marketing campaign for its new Aztek, which will be introduced in June. The four-door crossover will be built at the Ramos Arizpe assembly plant in Mexico. They're powered by a 185 hp 3.4L OHV V-6 mated to a four-speed electronically controlled automatic. The SRV was unveiled last year at the Detroit auto show as a concept vehicle. Standard equipment on the base Aztek includes driver and passenger front- and side-impact air bags, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, air-conditioning, power door locks and windows, power liftgate release, power dual outside rear view mirrors, convenience net and cargo security cover.

Additional equipment can be added, such as cruise control, traction control, roof rack and cargo net systems, sliding rear cargo tray, AM/FM in-dash six-disc changer with cassette and ten speakers including rear cargo area radio controls, deep tinted glass, and remote keyless entry. Optional GT model equipment includes heads up display, six-way power driver seat, leather seating, heated front seats, rear captain's chairs, rear-seat audio, theft deterrent alarm system and OnStar communication service.
