Dearborn Group, Inc.uper CAN Analysis Tool (SCAT) is a hardware and software package developed for GM's GMLAN program. It supports advanced communication analysis and diagnostics for CAN (single-wire and dual-wire) in-vehicle networks. The SCAT hardware unit is supported by its own Windows-based software which allows users to monitor, receive, filter, transmit and edit CAN frames and access the tool's database for industry-standard translation of these frames. The software also supports diagnostic message services. The SCAT uses an Ethernet connection to provide high-speed remote connectivity for applications such as diagnostics, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
