Kolbenschmidt Pierburghrottle unit forms a single intake module in conjunction with a Pierburg intake manifold. The unit will be featured in the 1.6-liter Opel engine. The EDR-E system offers all options for controlling the air mass flow in advanced spark ignition engines, whether in response to accelerator commands, in conjunction with idling speed or cruise control systems, or as part of safety equipment such as traction control solutions.
The system is supplied in a wide range of options with throttle diameters ranging from 40 to 76 millimeters. Benefits of the system include fast response cycles, high actuating forces, and dependability due to rugged detail design.
