Eaton Corporationnic Slip Differential acts as a part of the chassis electronic system, making it compatible with ABS, stability and traction control systems. Sensing excessive wheel slip using the vehicle ABS wheel sensors, the controller sends a current to Eaton Corporationmagnetic coil, which activates the ball ramp to compress the clutch pack. The clutch pressure and the resultant torque are proportional to the current supplied to Eaton Corporationmagnetic coil.
Benefits of the system include its fast-responding engagements and disengagements, normal behavior as an open differential, automatic activation when needed, high torque capacity available for severe operating conditions and infinite bias torque modulation between an open and fully engaged limited slip differential.
