Electro-Hydraulic Braking System
In the solenoid valve based Electro-hydraulic brake system, a motor driving a pump produces brake fluid under pressure that is stored in an accumulator. A set of linear solenoid valves controls flow of the pressurized brake fluid to the calliper to increase, hold or release the calliper clamp force. The driver interface includes a pedal feel emulator component integrated into the master cylinder assembly simulating conventional brake pedal feel to the driver. The pedal force and pedal travel sensors signal driver input to the brake system controller which then regulates the solenoid valves to match vehicle deceleration to the driver deceleration request.
