Clarion Launches Two New Apps For The Smart Access Platform Available On SUBARU STARLINK™ Equipped Vehicles

Cypress, CA /PRNewswire/ - Clarion Corporation of America, a leader in automotive infotainment and advanced driver safety and assistance systems, announced today the availability of two new apps available on the Smart Access platform for SUBARU STARLINK™ equipped vehicles.

RightTrack™ Test Drive from Liberty Mutual Insurance, an app that monitors driving habits and provides drivers with tips on how to drive safer, helping them lower their insurance rates and improve their safe driving skills, will be available directly on the infotainment system screens of new and current vehicles featuring factory-installed systems equipped with Clarion's Smart Access cloud-based infotainment platform. Subaru is the first automotive manufacturer to offer the app on its Smart Access powered SUBARU STARLINK™ infotainment system, providing Subaru owners the ability to take advantage of Liberty Mutual's offerings.

"People buy a Subaru because of the brand's legendary safety, reliability and value, and for those who have opted for the SUBARU STARLINK™ infotainment systems in their vehicles, Subaru has been able to continually offer more value in the form of app additions and updates to the platform," said Anthony Landamia, Infotainment Product Manager at Subaru. "Through our partnership with Clarion and Liberty Mutual, we are now able to extend even greater value to Subaru owners in the form of real-time driver assessment and coaching, and reduced insurance premiums for their safe driving habits."

In addition to the RightTrack™ Test Drive app from Liberty Mutual, Clarion has also added the Quick Reference Guide, created by Tweddle, to its Smart Access platform specifically for future SUBARU STARLINK™ equipped vehicles. The Quick Reference Guide app is a digital version of the vehicle's original hardcopy quick reference guides that come standard in all new Subaru vehicles. The app features In-Vehicle Help (IVH) that provides an interactive, searchable, model-specific concierge to the infotainment touchscreen. Currently, the Quick Guide app includes EyeSight®, SUBARU STARLINK™ Infotainment, and a vehicle overview. While Subaru will continue to include paper versions of these guides in its vehicles, this is Subaru's first step toward going paperless.
