Dana awarded $100M in new assembly production

<%=company1%> (Toledo, OH) says on Friday that it has $100 million in new axle/driveshaft assembly business from a Japanese OEM. Starting in 2004, the Tier 1 auto supplier will provide front and rear axle assemblies, as well as front and rear driveshaft assemblies for light trucks and SUVs to be produced in the U.S.

The Spicer rear axle assemblies will be produced at Dana's Columbia, MO, Spicer Light Vehicle Axle Group plant. Axle volume is expected to be about 180,000 units a year. Spicer front and rear steel main driveshafts, universal joints, and aluminum driveshafts will be manufactured at Spicer Driveshaft's Gordonsville, TN, facility. Combined driveshaft production is expected to be some 250,000 assemblies at full production.
