TZ Group Gets New Contracts From BAE Systems And Visteon- Early Adopters Of Intelligent Fastening Technology

Troy, MI- Telezygology Inc. has made significant progress with the commercialization of its Intevia Intelligent Fastening Technology (IFT) with the receipt of development agreements and purchase orders from three of its early adopter customers.

TZ has been awarded a subcontract under their joint development agreement with BAE Systems to provide Intevia mechanisms for military qualification testing. This is an important step in the commercialization and implementation of Intevia technology in multiple military applications.

"This new agreement is evidence of the tangible progress we're making with our early adopter customers," said TZ Group CEO David Feber. "Our co-development work this past year with BAE has generated this milestone order, and further enables Intevia technology to successfully be introduced into military applications."

A joint partnership was formed late last year between BAE and TZ to develop, validate and market Intevia technology for military applications. BAE Systems is the global leader in the design, development and production of armored combat vehicles. The original joint development agreement calls for Intevia IFT implementation to provide secure access and improved maintenance solutions to several applications under development. The agreement also allows provisions for more applications to be developed as the relationship and experience with Intevia Intelligent Technology grows.

The commercialization of Intevia IFT in the automotive and ground transportation industries has also taken a major step forward in the applications that two early adopter customers are developing. An automotive Tier One supplier has issued a purchase order to TZ for the development and engineering of a quick-release seatbelt buckle mechanism. The Tier One supplier's aim is to always be the first to produce innovative and appealing safety systems and they are advancing toward the development of an intelligent seatbelt buckle. TZ is establishing a strong relationship with this Tier One automotive supplier and it is expected that they will lead the way for implementing Intevia breakthrough technology in future automotive safety systems.

Furthermore, TZ is also working with Visteon Corporation in a collaborative effort for the development of an Intevia-enabled electronic glove box latch. This latch application is currently featured in a concept vehicle that Visteon has jointly developed with 3M, a universally-recognized innovator. Visteon is one of the world's largest automotive suppliers and TZ's first automotive early adopter customer, and is known for its vehicle integration expertise and for its first-to-market innovations in automotive climate, interior and electronics systems. The glove box application is a low-cost latching system that provides increased security and energy efficiencies as well as improved ergonomics with effortless control. The integration of Intevia technology, which incorporates shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators, allows for lighter weight and also significant noise reductions over current devices and systems used in vehicles. The Intevia-enabled electronic glove box latch is a robust, proven latching system that can be linked to a vehicle's alarm system improving security and safety while also adding to fuel efficiency because of the lighter weight, reduced-package size.

The concept vehicle, named "X-Wave," features more than 50 innovative technologies designed to enhance the driving experience of upcoming and future vehicles. Two solution-based prototype vehicles have been built to demonstrate technologies that are addressing such social trends as comfort, connectivity, convenience, health, flexibility and sensory. One vehicle is scheduled to be showcased in several key cities in North America while the second vehicle will visit major European cities.

"Visteon and 3M have a long history of supplying innovative products and services to the automotive marketplace," said TZ Group CEO David Feber. "It is very significant for Intevia technology to be recognized by these two industry innovators who have the insight and in-depth understanding of both the car manufacturers and the consumers who ultimately buy the vehicles."

It is the intention of both Visteon and TZ to continue working together for further development and commercialization of the glove box latching application as well as other interior applications.

"Working with such innovative early adopter customers as the automotive Tier One supplier, Visteon and BAE Systems is leading the way for our technology to be recognized as the best solution in many applications across all industries," said Mr. Feber. The continued successful development of applications implementing Intevia technology underscores the high volume opportunities in several markets which will allow TZ to build a substantial revenue backlog.
